Laser Surgery
Lasers are used to treat diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
YAG lasers are used to make occasional adjustments after cataract surgery. These lasers are used to treat patients with acute angle closure glaucoma. They are sometimes used in place of argon lasers to treat certain issues related to patients with diabetic retinopathy.
Argon Lasers are sometimes used to treat detached retinas; to destroy abnormal blood vessels in the retina; to treat tumors in the eye; etc.
The Candela GentleYAG, Smoothbeam, GentleLase and Vbeam Lasers are used in a variety of ways to reduce unwanted hair and leg veins. These lasers are also used to help smooth acne lesions, pigmented lesions, freckles and hemangiomas.
The Sciton Erbium Laser is used effectively in facial resurfacing thereby reducing the appearance of acne scars and wrinkles.
